I grew up in a small town in Western Montana. My father was the hunter safety
instructor for our town, so it was inevitable that I would learn to hunt & love
it. Its been over twenty years now, even though I don't get the opportunity to
hunt with my father as much any more I found a husband who loves to hunt more
than I. He got me back into elk hunting. We spend at least a full week in the
wall tent every year hoping to be lucky enough to get into the elk.
I never thought I would start archery hunting but one day my husband &
brother-in-law participated to a
3D archery shoot
put on by
Mission Valley Archers.
After hearing all the fun stories I was jealous and wanted to go. My husband
bought me a Hoyt & set it up. Talk about a passion, once you start it's almost
not fun to riffle hunt anymore. I have been archery hunting now since 2003 &
have harvested a Whitetail buck and a Saskatchewan black bear. Still trying for
that elk.
I have had the opportunity to use an outfitter twice now & talk about fun.
It's one thing to do it all yourself (very rewarding) but sometime its nice to
pay for it. If you are thinking about going on a black bear hunt check out Lost
River Camps for the
Saskatchewan black bear hunt of a lifetime.
When my husband & I went in June of 2005 we had bears within range every night.
I took home a nice 6" black bear, almost a Pope & Young. We are planning to
return this spring. I have heard through the grapevine Ralph and Vicki
Cianciarulo from Archers Choice will be hunting with
Lost River Camps this year & planning a show.
I am very proud to be from Montana and have the ability to elk hunt here in
this beautiful state. If you are considering using a Montana elk hunting
outfitter please check out the ones listed. Thank you for visiting Montana Elk
Hunting Outfitters & if you found the site helpful please send the link to a
